RevSure helps you create campaign associations based on page visit URLs. There are two types of campaigns that can be created from URLs: UTM campaigns and Referrer campaigns. These are explained below. Please note that:

  • While creating Referrer campaigns, we ensure that URLs without the utm_campaign parameter are used.
  • Domains such as Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Bing are excluded to capture only third-party referrers.

Creating UTM Campaigns from URLs

UTM campaigns are created based on the utm_campaign values present in the URLs visited by leads in the system. Currently, RevSure supports HubSpot Page Visit URLs, but we will soon extend this capability to First-Party URLs and URLs from other source systems.

UTM Parameters Mapping to Campaign Entity:

  • utm_campaign → Campaign Name
  • utm_source → Campaign Source
  • utm_medium → Campaign Type
  • "UTM" → Campaign Source System

Campaign member entries are created based on the lead_id available in the activity data and page visit timestamps.

Creating Referrer Campaigns from URLs

Referrer campaigns are created in a similar manner to UTM campaigns, but they are based on Page Referrer URLs. These campaigns are only generated from URLs that do not contain the utm_campaign parameter.

Field Mapping for Referrer Campaigns:

Campaign member entries are created based on the lead_id and page visit timestamps.

Website Campaigns

Website campaigns are created based on Page Visit URLs. We work with the customer to map important website pages to campaign names.

  • Campaign Name: Derived from the customer's mapping.
  • Campaign Type: Contains traffic source information, based on rules captured in the Campaign Channel Classification. For example, a "Webpage Visit" can be mapped to either "Direct Traffic," "Paid Social," or "Paid Search," based on channel classification rules.
  • Campaign Source: Contains referrer information.
  • Campaign Description: Contains the page title.

By utilizing URL-based campaign associations, RevSure ensures that campaigns are tracked effectively, enabling accurate attribution and reporting across various sources and platforms.
